OMG I'm going to scream! I made Ice Cream!

In my Bread Maker post, I mentioned that I impulsively got the bread maker on Amazon Prime day after seeing so many on sale. Well something that I have also thought about for a while has been an Ice cream maker. And no, I didn't impulsively buy one, instead my Mom bought me one! She's calling it a half birthday gift so who am I to say no!

We got a Cuisinart 1.5qt model that is very basic, but oh so exciting! It came the same day as my bread maker, so I got them both washed up right way. This one has you freeze the bowl for ice cream, so I put it in the freezer the same day too. I also ordered two ice cream containers off of amazon to store my homemade treats once I make them.

So here is the recipe I am following today:

1 Cup Milk (It suggests Whole)

3/4 Cup Sugar

2 Cups Cream

Vanilla, They say 1 Tablespoon but I free poured a splash

Pinch of Salt

Mix together, then let chill in the fridge for a couple hours. It goes in the ice cream maker for about 15 to 20 minutes. If you don't want it soft serve, you put it in the freezer for a couple more hours.

It is the Basic Vanilla recipe from the instruction manual.

The Results:

It is a super easy and creamy Vanilla Ice Cream! Nothing really crazy to say. Mixing it up took zero real effort and the ice cream machine really churns it perfectly on its own. The only thing that might not be ideal for some people, is that it requires some preparing ahead and a lot of waiting. You have to make sure the ice cream machine's bowl is frozen, then you have to mix up and potentially chill the ice cream mixture. Then after the machine has done its magic for 15 to 20 minutes, you might need to freeze it for even longer before enjoying it.

But if you want the freedom of Ice cream experimentation and don't mind a bit of waiting, I would recommend getting an ice cream maker like this! I think it is more reasonable, at least for me, to have the kind where you freeze the bowl but I'm sure it would be just as fun using the kind that requires salt and ice to be added.

So overall this is a 10/10 for me! And if you check out my YouTube tomorrow, I will show off making a Vanilla Malt Ball Ice Cream!
